HOTEL SPOTLIGHT: THE SANCTTUARY BEACH RESERT

The Sanctuary Beach Resort, nestled between Santa Cruz & Monterey is a hidden treasure, located on a sandy, private beach. This resort, which is pet-friendly and family-friendly, can be found in Marina, Ca.

This oceanside sanctuary offers rooms and suites right on the beach with stunning sunset views. It is ideal for couples and families. The Sanctuary Beach Resort is a great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing beach getaway.

Idyllic Accommodations

Many rooms and suites have stunning ocean views. Some are located just feet away from the beach, where you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. These accommodations can be found in attached bungalows of one or two stories. They range from 380-460 square feet and feature cozy fireplaces and coastal decor. Pullout sofa beds can be used to sleep extra people if you are traveling with more than one person. Large decks and patios allow you to sit outside and enjoy the stunning sunsets and cool ocean breezes.

Delicious Dining

Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette is a popular restaurant at the property. It attracts diners from Monterey and Santa Cruz, as well as Carmel residents. The resort’s guests only have to walk a few steps to enjoy fresh oysters and seasonal dishes like miso-glazed cod, seared octopus and tender pork belly. This modern restaurant is beautiful and offers a delicious cocktail menu as well as decadent desserts. Reservations are highly recommended.

Unlimited Amenities

The Sanctuary is ideal for long, lazy beach days. However, there are many other activities that can be enjoyed around the resort. There is a heated pool, a hot tub and sandy volleyball courts. Even little kids can enjoy the bocce ball courts. Beach Yoga is a great way to kick off the day. It’s offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 AM. Participants in yoga receive an hour-long, revitalizing session, as well as a bottle of juice and a lavender face mask.

Fire pits are lit in the evenings. Guests can have a relaxing evening on the beach by lighting them. The fire pits are lit every night and are stocked with additional firewood. Make sure you get a cute s’mores set from the store located by the lobby.

Complementary Activities

The resort also offers a daily nature walk that departs at 10 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday from The Lodge. Naturalists lead this one-hour, free discovery walk, and share interesting facts about the local fauna and flora with their audience. The loop is two miles long and takes you through the beautiful Marina Dunes Preserve. On a first-come basis, the resort offers complimentary use to stylish beach cruisers for beachside biking or exploring around town.

The Sanctuary Beach Resort offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation on the beach with your whole family, even Fido. It’s less than two hours from the East Bay Area and is the ideal spot to enjoy a last-minute getaway with loved ones, friends, or family.
